Rihanna sounds kinda dark and fresh in urban direction, it suits her. But I also want her to take a step further, music wise - as she always manages to do in any way - so I'm not really here for fully urban album. I don't want her to record something pure pop or EDM either. So, I don't really know what to predict...

I'm really excited for this. Unapologetic sounded so fresh and innovative, but I don't want her to (and I don't think she will) repeat herself, she's smart and she knows what we want.

I agree, it just depends where she wants to go though.. she could either make another album like Rated R and get more respect from the critics, or go the Unapologetic route and make a cohesive album. Or make a 100% pop album like Loud and GGGB that would probably spawn 2-3 #1 singles.

I really want something along the lines of Loud or GGGB. Not because I stan for success, but I think Rih is at her best when she has a cohesive theme or style for an entire era, like she did for "Loud".

Loud still had urban songs on it like Man Down, What's My Name, Raining Men. So just because this album has one song by DJ Mustard it doesn't mean it won't be like Loud.

I truly believe that Rihanna has found a niche market in doing urban / hip hop / club songs, although she hasn't really tapped into it yet. 'Pour It Up' peaked at 19 just based off Airplay and how much of a bop it was. And it works so well for her because her songs would have the capability of crossing over onto the pop charts effortlessly. So I'm beyond ready for the most ignorant and trash *** songs she has to offer me.

unapologetic is a flawless no filler album though!

Rih hasn't confirmed anything, and that recent Rihplies makes me believe she hasn't started working on R8. (Once again she seems to be busy with other projects- MAC & Balmain)
- So watching the video again makes me think DJ Mustard is being optimistic and just hoping Rihanna uses one of his tracks for the album. I doubt they met or have been in the studio together because we would have pictures or something more factual.

Either way we still have NO release date, NO word on a lead single, and he might not even make the final album cut.

It annoys me how her pop fans want her to stick with the EDM sound that has played out over the past year. Rihanna doesn't even like that type of sound anymore.
