What next time? It's pretty strange to say "lesson learned" about the situation when he's not given a chance to learn any lesson and his life is going to be ruined regardless. But that doesn't matter to some of you, does it? "He did a bad thing and should pay the price". With the rest of his life? How humane and decent.
Meanwhile, Sony will sit in their offices laughing away at the little bit of extra cash they'll get before the man runs out and goes bankrupt, and is unable to pay them what they demanded from him or pay for much else, probably.
He might deserve some form of punishment, but despite $233,000 even being "merciful", there is no way to morally justify such an excessive sum.
omg just shut up. You've no idea how ridiculous this reads. i dont even believe you the crap you're spewing. if his life was so precious to him then he wont go about breaking the law knowing fully well he lives in a society where the court system is active.Sony runs a business. It is not their responsibility to be humane and decent towards their employees that breach loyalty to the company they work for. If the outcome of the lawsuit will ruin his life beyond repair then thats something u take up with lawmakers. Tell them to be merciful towards criminals because corporations are only going to get extra cash while the criminal goes bankrupt for a crime he committed. Dead at u speakin gof morla justification, you're defending a law breaker, where were his morals when he was leaking someone else's blood and sweat ?
I would be pissed if I were this man too, but when he became an employee of Sony he knew the rules and regulations of the company. Just because it may ruin his life doesn't mean it excuses him. He took the risk and now he has to pay dearly for it. Im sure he knew that big record labels are complete assholes.
Ch.... JUST under a quarter of a million, I would have gone for more but considering it's an individual it's enough to get at him.
And all of you saying it's too much, we don't even know how much he makes, he could be a millionaire and this isn't even that big of a hit or if he makes less, he's just screwed for the next couple of years.

I'm being the ridiculous one when you're justifying excessive punishment on the basis that it's not Sony's job to be humane? Yeah the hell right. I never defended his actions, I said multiple times that he should be punished - I'm criticizing the fact that his life can be ruined over such arbitrary bull ****. The album might have, and most likely would have, leaked anyway, and plenty of albums leak well before their release - it didn't hurt Sony that much, and certainly not in the amount of $233,000 since the vast majority of people who pirated the disc probably did so after the official release anyway.
That's it???? >_> She surely lost millions of sales off the leak.. even though other people would of leaked it anyway... But I think the first person that leaks it ahead of time should be held completely responsible.
