Throughout December, I'll be counting down my 100 favorite songs of the year. This was a hard list to make & I tried to make it as accurate as possible.

#30-26
30 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop
I love fun songs just as much as I love serious songs. I like a balance. And this song is pure FUN that doesn't take itself too seriously - yet at the same time, it's not mind-numbingly dumb. This song isn't for everyone, but it's perfect for my type of personality. Funny thing is, the people behind this song are actually talented. The beat is HAWT & his flow is on point & humurous. The chorus is satire at its best. And the video is amazing (the Batman onesie >>>)
29 Lana Del Rey - Diet Mountain Dew
My favorite LDR song, by far. It has so much character, and it's not monotonous & dull like a lot of her songs (in my opinion). The chorus is like a sad lullaby, and has one of the best lines of the year : "let's take Jesus off the dashboard, got a lot on his mind". This song shows what she's capable of, but I'm sad she didn't utilize this song further into some type of video.
28 Maroon 5 - Wipe Your Eyes
I think this song should be a single right now instead of Daylight. It's very Fall/Winter, if that makes sense. It also should not be a bonus track, and should definitely be an album track on Overexposed, as it is better than almost all of the album tracks. M5 decided to get rid of the chipmunk background vocals & replaced it with a better background voice, but its the songs verses/chorus sung by Adam that really stand out. His mid-range vocals are so good, not too low or too high. Just right.
27 Flo Rida - Wild Ones (featuring Sia)
Flo Rida is hit & miss for me, but this song is a major guilty pleasure. How can it not be? Sia's chorus and bridge is the real highlight, as she elevates a could've-been basic party single into something greater. Sia her power. I'm so glad she had a breakthrough year. Flo supports the chorus well with a chorus that can make anyone dance and maybe fist pump. Anyway, another FUN song.
26 Calvin Harris - I Need Your Love (featuring Ellie Goulding)
Calvin Harris is one of my favorite EDM producers, as his music is almost always quality work. Ellie, equally is almost always of unique quality. Quality + Quality = Greatness. The breakdown is absolute euphoria, and Ellie handles the heavy beat like it ain't nobody bidness. I love when quiet girls slay like that tbh. I'm always rooting for Ellie, and this should be a 10 week #1.
Love "Skyfall"! "Little Talks" and "State Of Grace" are such gems, the latter is definitely one of Taylor's best moments. I like "It's Time" too.
"Poetic Justice", " Thinkin Bout You", "Looking Hot", "212", "Save Me", "Tight Rope", "Clique", "Your Body", "Push & Shove" and "1991" are amazing. Lovely to see them on your list.

#25-21
25 Carrie Underwood - Blown Away
This song is very cinematic, and dwells outside the country genre while staying true to it at the same time. It's a bit Wizard of Oz-esque, as the video suggests. Her voice is also the best it has ever sounded, clear, crisp and concise. The lyrics are also very revealing and dark without being exploitative.
24 P!nk - Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
This song gets way too much flack for being "safe" and "commercial". Whatever the goal in mind was, the execution is infectious. The main strength of the song is the vocal harmonies P!nk does with herself, but the beat is also electronic pop-rock. It sounds very modern & up to date, something P!nk has been her entire career. Turn this song up loud & enjoy it's anger. But ironically, it makes me happy.
23 Rihanna - Phresh Out the Runway
This song is FILTH for being so freaking good. It's easily the best beat of the year, so congrats to David Guetta for his best production to date. The autotune is excessive in all the right ways, and Rihanna goes H00D. And I'm slayed. It's raunchy and only Rihanna could pull this off.
Oh & the outro beat >>>> the lessor beats.
22 Imagine Dragons - Radioactive
The best song on Night Visions. It's so different from what any other rock band would dare do, and it works. I mean, who is pulling off dubstep like this? The video is humorous and understates the song's greatness. The beat is humongous, but the chorus twice as humongous.
21 Bruno Mars - Locked Out of Heaven
I'm currently hooked on Bruno's best song to date. It took a while to grow on me, but it's such a nice throwback and it's so different from everything else on radio. No wonder it's smashing so hard right now. It's not cheesy, and it gets me dancing. I did not like Bruno's music throughout 2010, but it's no surprise I'm now a big fan in 2012 when Unorthodox Jukebox is offering me songs like this.
