The fact she feels the need to backtrack with all her comments on the era and use fan reactions of it as a springboard for her next album just feels very disingenuous of her. I think it bothers me most because I actually liked the album. It had its faults and it certainly wasn't the "album of the decade" she hyped it up to be, and the single choices and video treatments were scatterbrained and overwrought, but the songs were solid and interesting, yet still very pop-dance Gaga.
Yet all I hear from her now with this is:
"Thanks for tolerating my self-indulgent last album little monsters, I'll go back to making pop detritus soon! I promise! #ARTPOP"
