While #1 is going to be pretty anti-climactic (and obvious), we kind of knew that this was going to be the case. Doesn't make it any less awesome, but you know.
And hey, BTW strikes again! And Panic...which I still have not listened to. But of course.
Wow right? And let me tell you guys again, that's #1 and not #7.
Foster the People eclipses P!@tD to grab this year's top spot with "Torches." The rhythmic hooks and synths + catchy drum beats + uncomprehensible lyrics = PERFECT in my book. It's an album I certainly enjoyed from start to finish. This is like a variety of musical experiments that's able to yield really good results listeners would find themselves unconsciously sending their heads bobbing or fists pumping. "Helena Beat" is a terrific opener, a dancy track with a great recall power. "Pumped Up Kicks" is like a hypnotizing chant you would think it's light and fun-themed but it's not, "Call It What You Want" is another hot track that I loved more because of the music video. Current single "Don't Stop" is one heck of an appealing track, those repetitive chorus and beats are sick, it sounds so good on commercials and trailers. I also love "Houdini," would it be awesome if they featured Adam Levine on here? The other two favorites of mine are the final few tracks "Love" and "Chin Music for the Unsuspecting Hero," I just find these songs really wonderfully written.
Just like "Vices & Virtues," this album is filled with metaphors and descriptions which makes the songs difficult to understand and that definitely is the main reason why I loved both albums. I loved trying to read in between the lines. I'm very thankful I paid attention to this album cause if I hadn't, I wouldve missed the best record of the year.
Best Tracks: "Pumped Up Kicks", " "Call It What You Want", "Chin Music For The Unsuspecting Hero", "Houdini", "Warrant", "Love", "Dont Stop (Color On The Walls)"
