Good on Gaga. I believe her attentions are real.
Obama stepping up his game for the election next year. Invites Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony to The White House to watch the superbowl final. It creates a lot of media interest. (Latin Vote) Invites the most popular singer in the world Lady Gaga to discuss a big vote winning issue. (Young vote) He is a politician. The republicans need to bring in Britney now. (Joking)

You really think that something has to be CLEAR-CUT to become a law? Don't you know people can get in front of a juge for diffamation, making someone reputation dirty, etc? Those are definitely NOT clear-cut cases.

Harassment is not just physical in nature, and verbal harassment is just as serious a problem.
Obviously, the obstacles of free speech make controlling verbal abuse difficult, but the truth is that there doesn't need to be a law per se, rather schools need to set their own (common sense) moral code and have the students abide by it.
For example, it may not be illegal to tell a person they're ugly and deserve to die a horrible death, but it certainly shouldn't be tolerated in an educational environment anymore than it is in a workplace setting. An employee who verbally harasses his employees will be fired by the company, and a student who does the same to his peers should be reprimanded in a similar fashion by the school, rather then them turning a blind eye.

I agree %100 with this.
If a child is excessively bullying someone, he should be reprimanded.

Never mind. It's hard to explain what I mean.

Um whatever gerl. There are bigger things to worry about, and being reduced =/= ending. And other pop bitches aren't using their celebrity status to focus on bullying. They are focusing on feeding the homeless in other countries and donating time/money to make a better life for the less fortunate.
Different strokes for different folks I guess. But most of y'all are nothing but a bunch of cyber bullies anyway so y'all just look like a bunch of hypocrites making a huge deal out of this. Y'all need to sit.

Uh, duh. Obviously reducing bullying does not equal ending it, but reducing it is far better than doing nothing about it. I agree that feeding the homeless and donating time/money to and for the less fortunate are huge issues and I'm definitely in support of them aiding those efforts, but why is it that those problems are such a huge deal to everyone, but bullying should be left for kids to deal with on their own? Hell to the no.
Let's not with acting like anyone in here arguing against cyber bullying is one themselves, but I know if you're referring to me then you better sit the hell down because that would be delusion like no other.

A law isn't gonna stop people from bullying, trust me. Way more needs to be done.

But that said, no law is exactly or 100% "clear-cut" as you said. A (well-defined) bullying law would not be much different.

I know that. Like rape for example. It's often difficult to determine whether it was in fact rape. But in the case of bullying, it's something that starts so young and can sometimes truly be harmless...

Anyone saying bullying is a clear cut issue, must live in a utopia. The detrimental and/or horrific consequences of the actions of these bullies should be punishable. The world will never be perfect but tolerance can be taught.

VERY true. But efforts should still be put in place regardless. Most everything isn't clear cut, so we shouldn't just ignore the issues that aren't because they're "too difficult" to decipher.

Yes, but we're talking about the harmful cases, not "haha you're stupid because you're blonde."

At most there should be laws that the school needs to reprimand them for excessive bullying.

2. Let's NAWT indeed. Who said KoreanDream? Did it come out of my font? If you know it isn't you then pay it, but there are plenty in here doing it.
I don't have to "sit" anything. Please remove your wishy washy ass from behind my quote button because I wasn't originally speaking to you nor did I ask for your 2 cents.

At least, kids would know that they have a system behind them to help if they need it. As of now, if a kid goes to his professor, what can the autority really do? Nothing pretty much. We're not talking about a law that could send kids to jail, but just have penalties (ie : suspension, have to follow a class on racism/homophobia, etc). Things like that. But, the question is - do we really need a law for that, or just more social awereness until the school directors that could make those rules within their schools.

A law doesn't stop people from murdering others, but it must help. Or at the very least, it severely punishes those who do murder.
A law that punishes severe bullying would work the same way.

Anyway, done with this mess because the gerls don't know how to debate without trying it and getting snatched.
Good luck Gaga.

No one did, but when you say ya'll in response to me don't expect me not to wonder who you're talking about.
I can quote whoever the hell I want and you do not get to act like you're superior or some **** and get decide whether or not you want people to respond. If you press submit, expect some responses.
