The funny thing is everyone keeps bringing up Jennifer's "I'm Real", as some beacon of the remix, when in fact, it was one of the songs listed in the lawsuit against Sony for being involved in payola
I'm talking long before Jennifer Lopez. Let's go back to Mariah's unprecedented run of seven #1 hits at the beginning of her career, for example, shall we? It wouldn't have existed had certain songs she released to radio for urban support been allowed to chart on the Hot 100 despite not having a physical single. There are plenty of examples of things like this throughout music history.
Beyoncé has done remixes but she has never done them at the last minute and hasn't used them to boost single sales. They are usually released as singles.
The 99 cent album was totally out of the decision of either GaGa or her label, so your point on that case is invalid.
BULL- ****
If Amazon wanted so desperately to make big profit from an album , they would have chosen ADELE or SB when she was pushing 500k per week. The demand is/was clearly there. 8 million albums worth of demand.
Clearly it was an under table deal with gaga , her label and amazon.
You know what, **** THIS ****, you can't beat 'em, out ****ing do 'em. Bey better do a full album electro dance pop remix of 4 and release every ****ing track.

Exactly.
The difference with Britney / Rihanna / Katy is that they released their remixes as chart/sales boosters during the ORIGINAL song's peak. Beyonce at least released her remix as the ONLY song...NOT a booster.
