No offense to the stans but I just can't with this obviously biased article.
No conspiracy, the video just sucks compared to "Judas" and other videos.

Yeah, that's why Firework and RITD are nominated. Such amazing artistic videos, legends, your fave could never sit in a chair, etc.
The VMAs are based on what the public wants to see happen. 2007 the public wanted Rihanna to win for Umbrella. 2008 the public wanted Britney to bounce back from the
2007 cheeseburger eating contest Gimme More performance. 2009 the public wanted Bey to win for what will forever be her most iconic video. 2010 the public wanted to honor the cultural monopolization pulled off by Lady Gaga. This year they want a basic bitch's #1s to be honored. I'm sure next year it'll be Ke$ha's turn.
The VMAs aren't a huge deal, at least not to anyone outside the pop/rock/"rap" world. Do you think Elton John, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Cher, Cyndi Lauper, and Sade give a **** if they get VMAs? No.
Now when Katy starts getting Grammys... then we can go off.
