But I'll keep that for SYG.

Polls are mostly flawed since you can vote mutiple times. And most imporantly, voting is free unlike buying a song on iTunes.
Lady Gaga is currently dominating and she got you all riled up, but you refuse to believe it. Hence your excuses and ignorant behaviour. Polls more reliable than iTunes? I mean really.

I was just trying to prove Kirill wrong, not shade Gaga.
iTunes does not define the public's opinions as it can easily be bought out.
Radio plays spill the true tea.

You failed miserably, Kirill stated facts and only that. Lady Gaga is the first to top iTunes in all 23 countries and it is debatable whether we have seen a bigger lead on US iTunes ever before.

You may not have noticed, but every single person who bought a song on iTunes is allowed to rate said song and post his or her review about it on iTunes.
Born This Way already received over 16,000 ratings with an average of 4*.
iTunes, radio, Lady Gaga is dominating it all.

I never said the audience didn't like it, I said they preferred HIAM.
I LOVE the song and cannot choose between the two though.

I don't care which song is preferred by the audience. You were making up excuses for Born This Way's success on iTunes. Utter ********.

yeah britney has 13 years career and she is still working with max martin and dr luke.. she doesn't bring anything new .. the plastic untalented popstar can't compete with a force like gaga
madonna is the only one who can still compete with gaga but she doesn't care for now

It's delusional to state otherwise.
And p.s toxic was rejected by Kylie, rejection by another artist means nothing.

!!!
People here has such a bad memory. "Hold It Against Me" got great critical acclaim when it was released on January.

That is so untrue and you know it. Britney was relevant early on in her career and she's never managed to reach that status again since her mental health deteriorated and she was placed under conservatorship. Her commercial relevancy peaked from 1998-2001, and her critical acclaim peaked from 2001-2004. Much like Chrisitna Aguilera her success is largely exaggerated in that it's heavily dependant upon her first two albums. Take those out of the picture, and Britney's career has been very ordinary since then.
Chrisitna was her main rival at the time and the two of them will always be connected, but Britney is the one who some people had hyped as Madonna's successor. She never lived up to it. Within three years GaGa has already mustered enough critical acclaim to outweigh what Britney accomplished in her entire career. Britney has always had a devout following, but whether or not the impact she made into the world of pop music was a good thing or not is questionable. Let's not forget that Britney "dominated" in an age when pop music was in decline, a decline which she could not prevent. Pop was revived in 2008, and she's not leading that revival, she's very much following. So much so that the lead single to her much anticipated 7th album was rejected by one of her rivals. Britney has become a label puppet and that's a fact that even her most devout fans will admit to.
Lady GaGa will outsell Britney, but that's not because she's a "fresh act". She's been in this industry for three years, like Britney people expected her to be a one hit wonder yet time and time again she proves them wrong. GaGa is here to stay and those that don't like it will have to put up with it. She's relevant in every corner of the planet right now, in some places she has reached a height that Britney never quite did. I think Britney can be successful for years to come, but the extent of that success is largely going to depend on her own actions. She has to promote if she wants to compete. The pop market is more competitive than it has been in a long time. She may be able to open with 410k because of her large following, but if she wants to prevent future releases from declining at a rapid pace then she will have to work a little harder. She is a "bad bitch" after all.

|
Then why her tour was one of the most succesful tour ever made by a female artist?
Of course Gaga will outsell Britney. She's the new It girl Born This Way era is shaping to be like Oops era. You're too harsh with Britney and what she has accomplished throught her entire career.
Even after her breakout she managaed to make her best album yet. Blackout is not the in The Times top 5 best album of the decade for nothing, and wether you like it or not Britney has had a HUGE influence in Gaga just like Madonna or Janet had over Britney

Why is this thread even open? It's obvious flaimbait and I'm sure if I posted "Will Britney Outshine Gaga" it would be closed.

Also, they made a deal with Apple to send an e-mail to everyone who has ever bought a GaGa track from iTunes, letting them know that “Born This Way” is out.
Britney is a veteran who sat on her ass and she has done absolutely nothing to promote the track yet. It was #1 in 20 countries and has sold between 1.4 and 1.5 million worldwide in 4 weeks.
And props to Britney for keeping up with a newbie.

We aren't acting like she hasn't done that before. It's the truth. She hasn't. She only had like 16 countries But I can understand why u are pressed. If I were in your position, I would be so pressed too...

I do too and I think it should be allowed. If this was in SYG like discussions of this nature normally are, then people would be more concerned with "dragging" than actually having a discussion. I haven't warned anyone for flamebait in this poll because I think it's expected, if someone is giving their own opinion I'm OK with it just as long as it's not blatantly trolling. Arguments are a part of life, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Some people made some great points in this thread, and I agree I've been too harsh on Britney. I actually like her deep down.

Britney's star has been shining for 13 years & has only gotten brighter. She isn't going to fade.
There is no reason Britney & Gaga can't both be successful.
