Nnnn, I mean, I like friends but only remember some episodes, probably less than 20, and I can name some, there are a possibility more black casts among the 200 eps.

Yes. How can you have a show take place in new York without NO POC
|
there was one member in here saying its because friends stuck to reality with its portrayal of West Village (the area where the characters live) that has no POC presence

This, even though the black ones were always more entertaining and with better acting

Girl, you're from a predominantly white city in a predominantly white country. What do you know about equal representation and diversity besides seeing tan white people and pale white people?

Disagree, there are many puertorican, asian, south american actors on the show that make cameos and appearances.

What a load of bull.
Friends was super ahead of it's time. For a show to garner that many ratings, it was good for gay and minority communities to have representation. I mean, in the very first few episodes, they introduced lesbian characters. As mentioned before, Ross had both an Asian and African-American girlfriend. Also, I know it was just one episode, but I loved when Ross and Joey were fighting over Gabrielle Union.
Again, echoing someone else, both the Cosby Show and Family Matters were going on at that point-- super popular shows with a predominantly African-American cast, so let's not.

Does it really matter? I enjoy the show and it's one of my all-time favorite shows. I don't think about race when watching it so why should you?

They also went back and forth over Ayesha Tylers character.
Lets represent black women when they are hot and can be used as a pawn for the characters to fight over.
Im not sure thats the kind of representation WOC need

The first time these two liked the same African-American woman at the same time. Gabrielle Union and Aisha Tyler. People are nitpicking for the wrong reasons. I think the problem isn't with the cast and representation. I think the problem is that black sitcoms never received the praise and worship Friends received, despite being on par or even better. Shows like Martin, Living Single, Girlfriends, etc. were highly praised within their own communities, but never got the mass praise as Friends.

Sweetie, you have never set a foot in Paris to claim this city is not diverse, like honestly lmao.
As to equal representation I'm not going to make statistics for every show to see how well represented are every ethnicity, sexual orientation and whatnot. Friends is perfect, the same way How to Get Away With Murder is a great show only because of Viola Davis greatness (to me at least). I don't care if I'm seeing predominantly black people, asian people, or white people on my TV, I just want good actors, and you have great shows where both black and white people have the lead role.

This is just nitpicking at it's finest. Aisha played an extremely smart and successful scientist. You want to complain about representation, but then turn around and complain about the type pf representation. Ross's Asian gf was also super smart and successful. You're saying WOC wouldn't want to be represented as smart, successful, and beautiful?
How should we want to be represented?
