It wouldn't but I kinda feel sorry for the people who just bought the iPad 3. Plus the iPad 4 and the iPad 3 could've been one product and once again, they did it in two generations. It's sad.

No they're not.

Unlike Google, Apple updates new products and when the new OS comes along they will tag some of their Apps and Features as "This feature will not work for your device". They kill it slowly until it dies and goes off of support.
