The level of delusion and/or denial is alarming. There is no room in pop music for a 50-something popstar. Whatever obstacles she faced in the past, she had youth on her side. She no longer does. This is the world we live in, fair or not.
She's a chameleon and a master of adapting...but she doesn't seem able to adapt to the harsh but unavoidable reality of nature.

This is true and I agree with you, but if you were referring to my replies to the thread before yours, I'm just saying that MDNA is not the worst era/low point of her carrer, but it is one of my least favorites.

I do agree with Elton to some extent, on the point that Madonna should go back to making great pop records that will be memorable like her older work, which is not the case with MDNA.

I think that it's highly unethical to use someone else as a mean of "stepping stone" to promote yourself. You should let your art do it for you. Madonna is using Lady Gaga to promote herself. That's very bad for her as a person, and as a veteran in the music industry. And no, Madonna does not talk about Gaga just because she's asked about Gaga; she can always chose what she talks about, and she is not avoiding talking about Gaga. Once is ok, but most of her interviews during this era had something about Gaga. This is not normal.

Bad Press: Erotica<<<<<<MDNA
|
On what planet? lol. That's insane to state if you were a coherent person during the early 1990s. Bad press almost every single day for a year and change. Her peers dogging her more. Madonna STILL gets called on being a one trick **** because of this era, a lot of what she's earned and done BEFORE AND AFTER is diminshed because she was selling the naked and sex back then. She rightfully divides her career into before and after SEX (Erotica, Body of Evidence).
IMO it's equal to what the younger artists are doing like Rihanna, Perry, Gaga, Keisha... so, yes I agree it sucks for the most part Madonna can do better.

And what would you say is her lowest point of her career musically?

That's what I meant. That Erotica was so bad in terms of bad press. Not that it had less bad press than MDNA.

You should read my posts.
I wasn't speaking based on her music, I was talking about how the general public viewed her/how she performed overall at that given time. Erotica was the lowest point of her career if we're talking about that.
Musically, it's MDNA, American Life or Hard Candy. Erotica is my favorite Madonna album.

She's not using Gaga to promote herself anymore than she was using Mariah Carey to promote herself. She's Madonna, she just has to be herself to get promotion - and part of Madonna is being shady. She says what she feels. Her concert tour was over 90% sold out in the U.S. before they knew a EY/BTW mashup was on the schedule. She had the most watched SuperBowl halftime show of all time and that had nothing to do with Gaga. Her kid smoking, her showing her butt and breasts (which she's done a million times before BUT with ageism attached now), her sales (which will give her one of the top 10 selling albums worldwide at the end of the year), her perfume, her shoes, her boyfriend, her Ocsar party, Elton's one sided fued with her, that CNN guys one sided fued with her, her one sided fued with Gaga - she gets press for everything.

You are wrong... It was the press & some conservative people who most of them were not listening to her either way. The pop landscape was still loving her. The general public was still fascinated by her! She was still having hits & relevancy. Something that isn't happening with the MDNA era. Madonna has 3 ****ing eras that were by far worse and you still insist that Erotica was the lowest point. Fine by me. If you were naming Hardcandy era as her lowest point there would be an actual debate. But this is preposterous so I stop posting on this thread. You know what? Her lowest point is True Blue or Ray of Light. This is the next thing I will be taught here in order to excuse MDNA's fabulous artistic and commercial height.

Sis, just because she gets away doing all those things does not mean it is right or that we should find it wonderful and praise her; or, worse yet, have all this mess as some kind of successful business model. It's not right, it's bad, and not fair. I don't support this and never will. If I supported such things, by now I'd been a politician at my country and rob the people's money. They lie all the time, get away with people's money, and live like Kings. I'd rather be poor and not successful than to resort to such low tactics.

I don't like MDNA so stop acting like I'm defending it, I'm not. I've already stated the truth, I'm done here.

First of all, I was simply stating that Madonna doesn't need to shade somebody to get all her press, not anything close to that. Second of all, half those things she doesn't even do for press. Third of all, none of those things are "bad" except showing a half moon and slippin a tit which basically all of todays pop tarts do (and which Madonna basically brought into the pop arena for better or for worst) and being shady (which a lot of people are). I wasn't proclaiming that we all stand up and applaud her morals or lack of morals. I don't think we should stand up and applaud any pop artist really for their morals at least.

nothing new there. he was lying about his sexual direction and drug addiction for years.
at least he realized that madonna is the only person in the world who protects him from being irrelevant these days.
