This movie wouldn't be financed or be a blockbuster with a Japanese actress. Sorry but it's the truth. People can give their best SJW speech but at the end of the day Hollywood is a business and they act accordingly with the audience. People prefer an actress like Scarlett, even is she's not the ethical choice, instead of a random Japanese actress.

Avatar the Last Airbender, Pan, Dragonball Evolution among many other examples.. it’s already been proven that diverse films perform better at box office. there are sooo many films with a diverse cast that are blockbusters not only in North America but also, globally..

Their is not a asian american or even asian acotr or actres big enough to lead a film, to make anyone invest it.
So it you can shunn the movie but it wont help asian actors.

All we can hope is that the movie allows secondary chracter to be asian so they can get a start and intro to american audiences
