Giving Romney her vote does not mean she is anti gay. There are other issues besides gay marriage in the world. I understand why it is important to many people, it is also important to me but is it really that hard to comprehend that some people might put more weight on economic policy, etc when casting their ballot?

Actually there are many gays I know that themselves are voting for Romney, not because they are against gay marriage but because they agree with his other principals and see gay marriage/partnerships happening eventually regardless of which president gets put into office.

This is BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS so no. There isn't and SHOULDN'T be any issue bigger than this. People are being killed for who they are and being treated as 2/3rd of a person underlaw. This is directly dealing with Families and in some case whether on not some parents can keep their kids. And what good is an economy if your still not going to get EQUALLY paid just for being a women?

People have different priorities. I understand that as a straight female I would not know what it's like to be denied the right to marry and am probably taking my rights for granted, but my mentality as someone who isn't even thinking about marriage at the moment and being surrounded by other people (both straight and gay) who aren't thinking about it either, is that it's just not that important.

I do think gays should have equal rights and am aware of the unfair implications in not allowing certain people to marry, but overall I don't find something like being denied the right to marry to be an incredibly pressing issue, especially when compared to things like slavery or genocide... For me it's not so much a lack of caring about gays but a lack of caring about marriage I guess

But I don't know/have an opinion on many other issues at the moment so I voted for Obama for the gays
