Signed to majors or not, they still didn't put out commercial music, sir, so, to me, that negates the whole argument you were trying to push.
Is Em a sell out?
|
Not 100%. I'm willing to admit (and he also) that his **** has come more commercialized, but his albums in full are not.

Anyway, I have to memorize the entire continent of Africa and it's capitols before Friday.... Song's dope and I agree. Goodbye.

I don't find any fault in Iggy rapping outside of her accent. I don't care.
People are mad because she's white and she's seeing success because of it..and that's not fair to her or the (sometimes) hypocritical hip hop community.

I think that's a fairly good reason to be mad.

No, that's called being a sore loser/pressed/bothered/etc.
White rappers make up like 1 percent of hip hop..step up your game if you really that mad!

Acknowledging having to work twice as hard to get half as much is being a sore loser?

Iggy and Macklemore are fads anyway. J. Cole's random release with no singles will most likely outsell Iggy's highly promoted EP/re-release. Black rappers win in the long run with Eminem being the only exception to the rule.

JT is from Memphis, TN, has dated Janet Jackson, and is the current King of Pop. He grew up around these sounds. Now Macklemore though

JT is just as fake as the rest of them
He's never spoken out about important black issues but is the 1st to run 106 and Park and promote his new album.

So the likes of Michael, Janet, Whitney and other black artists who worked twice as hard didn't have to come for their white contemporaries.
They let the work speak for itself..
And I understand that beef is part of hip hop..but race is another story..it's like yall think that Em, Iggy, and Mackelmore were handed this stuff on a silver platter just because they are white! Mess! They worked just as hard..and I'm very sure they knew what they were getting into entering a black dominated musical genre.

Cause Eminem makes good music unlike those others. And he is humble about these type of topics

There is urban radio..and there was a time when rappers were all over "pop" radio.
That's not an excuse.

Jazz and Rock n Roll were taken over in a completely different time, in a completely different world. I hope you are joking about the last three things

Eminem in "White America"
Quote:
Look at these eyes, baby blue, baby just like yourself, if they were brown, Shady lose, Shady
Sits on the shelf, but Shady's cute, Shady knew, Shady's dimple's would help, make ladies swoon
Baby, {ooh baby}, look at my sales, let's do the math, if I was black, I would've sold half
...................****, wow, I'm like my skin is it starting to work to my benefit now,.
|
Macklemore in "White Privilege"
Quote:
And white rappers albums really get the most spins
The face of hip hop has changed a lot since Eminem
And if he's taking away black artists' profits I look just like him.......
And we don't want to admit that this is existing
So scared to acknowledge the benefits of our white privilege..........
What happened to jazz and rock and roll is happening right now
|
This isn't new. Everybody including white artists know this, but white ATRL can stay oblivious

To all who are saying he sounds "pressed" and that it should be embraced by all cultures: no one said it shouldn't be. It's when the white people take something that black people had as their own and become recognized for it over black people who have broke their backs just to get where they are... that's when it becomes a sad, sad thing.

At the end of the day, Eminem will be the only white rapper that will be respected amongst his peers. I love Iggy and I tolerate Mackelmore, but they are not going to be more revered than Em..
They are the only three that are somewhat relevant right now..and they aren't really the face of hip hop as a whole..
