Sis I was laughing when I posted it. It was a joke. I was poking fun. Nothing I say on here is to be taken seriously.
You turned this around. You made this thread about me, not the other way around.

He's just mad Kendrick scalped him. You'll clapback at a singer (Chris Brown) on a track but won't do the same for a rapper...scared are we?

Like I came into this thread to say my peace and leave. Not argue with a poster claiming I'm having a meltdown over stating an opinion.

If you had disagreed with me civilly and expressed your opinions without insulting other artists, swearing every other word, and actually melting down, I wouldn't have said you were having a meltdown tho.
I'm not saying you're having a meltdown or being hypocritical because I don't like you. I've always liked you. I'm saying it because both of those things are true. I pointed out using your own words where you said hypocritical things. If you don't want people to reply to you and disagree with you, don't post on a public forum. Run a blog instead.

I think most real lyrical content comes from experiencing pain and struggle. I'm not saying you have to be hood or whatever to be a good rapper, but I do think Drake raps about what he's experienced in life which isn't really anything too drastic. He grew up in a good family, in Canada, and probably the most pain and struggle he's ever dealt with has really came from being burned by females. We get it. Let it out Drake, but, at this point, I'm tired of hearing about it.
The thing is, Kendrick didn't really say anything really offensive. I play sports. I'm a competitive person. My component can be my best friend, but when we're competing I'm going to be trying to outdo her and talking **** while doing so. Competition is all about survival of the fittest.
|
I agree with this to an extent. kendricks control verse was obviously more a competition thing, not really malicious intent. i understand where drake is coming from though, still. I just get tired of people calling drake sensitive. Rappers like mos def and talib kweli never focused on having beef with another rapper or compteting. They rapped about real issues and collaborated with other artists and made it all about love.
You don't have to be competitive or "street" to be a good rapper, nor do you have to diss left and right to be either. Hip hop didn't start off that way anyway.

I don't think Kendrick technically wants to be competitive either, though. Yes, he called out his peers, but I think it was more of a wake-up call to tell them that they need to bring more quality music. I honestly don't think Kendrick wants to beef with them. I think he was saying he was going to kill them in the sense that he's going to bring quality music and verses and if they continue on the route that they're own then yes, he is going to "kill" them because it's obvious that his **** is superior.

I don't see Drake's reaction as being sensitive but rather he was keeping it real unlike kendrik who after running his mouth to get his 15 mins of fame sees Drake in public and pretends that nothing happened ,and you expect drake to run with it?I mean I don't think any of those rappers he talked about will shake him in public when they meet him.
Drake is not being sensitive he is only asking Kendrik to keep it real the way Jay and Nas and others before him did.

He explicitly said that he had love for everyone he name dropped in the verse.

Some of y'all still don't get it.
- Commercial success means **** when you're rapping about the same things 24/7. Like most rappers are doing these days.
Kendrick is a lyricist. Point blank, so I'll take the Kendricks, J.Coles, Nas songs over these other cats.
TBH, Even mixtape Drake was better than the songs he puts out now.

That's not a response from a person that's unbothered; and beyond being bothered, it's cowardly and hypocritical.

I dont know what you took from the "I seen him and it was all love" part...but I took that Kendrick dropped the vers and then acted like nothing happened when they saw each other. The entire world who knows about the vers took it as a diss to all mentioned. I don't think Drake gives a **** but I think he's moreso saying "this guy made some **** to get ppl talking for a few days and he's really all our boy when he sees us".
I think anybody that doesn't see this out of Drake's eyes is just more irritated he hasn't responded with a diss. I've yet to see anybody post on Atrl about Meek's disses.
But I know if I came with a verse like control I'd be perching waiting to drop a response to their responses not popping bottle and tipping strippers with them in a club.
Yall are too quick to respect an MC for taking shots but not quick at all to question his legitimacy. The verse was just for buzz but it came out as a diss and he burnt some bridges to the most talented young rappers out. If anything that was just as bitchmade as Lil Kim letting the internet gas her into dissing Nicki for copying her like it was a bad thing.

Kendrick is highly overrated not nearly as "lyrical" as people make him seem he still raps about the same things the rappers of his generation do, he just is a little more diverse.

His "15 min". Wake up! Kendrick's been killing the game for over the past week. GKMC is almost universally acclaimed as the best rap album in recent years. Kendrick's keeping it real. The "Control" verse didn't have any ill intent. He even gave Drake some love. Maybe he just expected Drake not to be so offended by it because he felt like he didn't say anything of offense.

Kendrick is a lyricist and GKMC is one of the best story-telling-albums released this decade. I love Drake, but I saw no disrespect in Kendrick's verse/"diss".

On Kendrick coming for him on “Control” & if he sees it as real rap beef:
It just wasn’t real to me. I saw him after that and it was just love, so was that real or was it just for the people? At the same time it’s like, let it be real ’cause those were harsh words.
|
He clearly says that he saw him after the record dropped. I don't care if Drake responds with a diss track or not, my thing is the bitching and moaning about it. **** or get off the pot -- if you don't want to respond on wax, tell the man to his face; if you don't want to man up and do either one, STFU about it altogether.

Lol...besides Drake and Meek Mill, which bridges did he burn? Some of the rappers who took offense to his verse were either irrelevant and have no bearing on where Kendrick stands now in the rap industry or were never really associated with Kendrick or how he got to his throne. People like J. Cole, Jay Electronica and Big Sean are still here for K. Dot.
People like competitiveness, and for people who are always on this pop board and comparing female singers day in and day out, I find it odd that some of you are against rappers taking jabs at each other, especially when it has always been a thing in hip hop and will continue to be for years to come. And lol @ "legitimacy."
