The Foo Fighters' seventh studio album, Wasting Light, charges in at #8 on the countdown. Another rock release, this record is most definitely one of the best 2011 had to offer. Tough, edgy, and less "holding-back" than any of their previous releases, Light is most definitely deserving of this top 10 position. Truly a badass album.

GIRLS' GENERATION - GIRLS' GENERATION (1ST JAPAN ALBUM)
Girls' Generation's first Japanese album may be a perfect pop record in every sense, but part of the reason it scored this top 10 position is because of what it means to me. I never cared for Girls' Generation before April of this year; in fact, I only liked a few songs by them, if even that. This album, headed by the genius "Mr. Taxi", pushed me so far into the fan zone that I, dare I say it, almost became a stan! Fabulously-produced, Generation offers up eleven grand pop songs, even for a non-Japanese speaker. That is, if you ignore the horrid "Beautiful Stranger". .
