Demi Lovato blasts back onto Billboard's Pop Songs chart, as "Heart Attack" debuts at No. 35 following its first week of airplay. The song marks the first entry on the list for the singer/actress/judge on the most recent season of Fox's "The X Factor" since "Give Your Heart a Break" became her first No. 1 in September.
"I love Demi's new single," says Erik Bradley, APD/MD of CBS Radio's WBBM Chicago, which played the track 30 times in the Feb. 25-March 3 Nielsen BDS tracking week. "It's easily our most-requested song and has been from the first play. I feel fairly confident that it's going to be her second No. 1 single."
"Heart" previews Lovato's forthcoming fourth studio album. Industry sources suggest that the song could debut with 200,000 downloads sold when Nielsen SoundScan's latest figures are released on Wednesday (March 6) on Billboard.com, setting up a likely lofty debut for it on this week's Billboard Hot 100. Notably, the chart's leader the past wo weeks, Baauer's "Harlem Shake," also debuts on Pop Songs at No. 38 (see below).
