From AGLM to GGGB, her label hired producers to make her even more commercial to keep money coming in. More pop/Dance records, more corny midtempos, and calling Timbaland/JT before the end of their reign. "Umbrella" was a change of pace, after being dragged through the "who's going to sing this" process.
That's not reinvention, but a steadily growing income for Def Jam. She changed more on RR, but has molded right back into the product title. Nothing to be compared to Madonna's actual transitions in her prime.
