It's good music, but it does feel very basic, as if anybody could be singing it. I could actually picture Katy singing just about every one of the songs, but definitely not the other way around (Taylor singing Walking on Air or Dark Horse )

mess you guys are still running with this baseless rumor yeah maybe not Taylor but WOA could easily be Madonna Britney Kylie etc. Dark HOrse could be LITERALLY anyone like its has zero personality whatsoever. Taylor could easily sing that. also if anything is a previous demo its DH or at least the rap

Katy's coming out as very butt-hurt (and bitchy) about this whole situation, even if she's not saying these things herself.

Dear lawd. as if this makes ANY sense.

He told the truth. My own mother even said Blank Space sounded like a Katy song over the weekend and she's not even into pop music like that. Katy, ha impact

No, the real cringeeeee is you thinking that his career highlights (which is more than YOU have accomplished) has anything to do with his opinion whatsoever. Should I go wiki you ever time I see you post your opinion? Do you have a wiki?

___
Greg is mad his last hit was 7 years ago LOL! embarrassing

You're disgusting
Plus.
1) He doesn't post in the Kesha base
2)The #FREEKESHA movement has BEEN over, and he had no part in it
3)Her claims were never shut down as lies.
Your cringeworthy attempt to bring up that he's a fan of KeSha, not once, but TWICE, when it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic itself was literally the most embarrassing comment in this thread Atleast you stopped trying and left with a few WPs that weren't even worth it. Congrats!

Katy has nothing to be upset about given the fact PRISM was a major success, and is currently in Australia making $3 Million+ a night, getting ready to take on the biggest event of the year. But do you.

Do you still consider Gaga a main pop girl?
Why wasn't ARTPOP as well received as 1989?

I completely disagree. Songs like Blank Space, I Wish You Would, Wildest Dreams, This Love, I Know Places, Wonderland, You Are In Love, New Romantics, etc are all very lyrically strong. Most of the album is.
I think Prism has some strong songs on it lyrically, and I do like it, but overall I thought it was disappointing and not showing Katy's potential as a writer. The majority of the songs didn't have the signature Katy Perry style of writing, they sounded like they could have been anyone's.
1989 is a new sound for Taylor, but the songs still sound like Taylor Swift...they have her signature writing style and her personality injected in all of them. One of the reviews said something along those lines, how it sounds just like Taylor Swift even if it doesn't sound like anything she's done before.
|
And this too
------------
But I disagree completely. It's better than PRISM and not anyone's 'lite'. But he's entitled to his opinion, and I'm not going to try and dismiss him as being "irrelevent" when he has a career and well known, when I'm nothing but a geigh on a message board

How many best of the year lists did 'Prism' make? 1989 seems to be on every single one.

Why were there butterflies in her room? That's a lot of butterflies if the dust covers her WHOLE room. WTF is her room a butterfly garden or something? That must be pretty hot. No wonder she punched a hole in the roof... but it must be a pretty small room if she can reach the roof. Unless she was wearing heels, but then she could have slipped on the dust and broken her neck. Either way, if there was a flood it would probably implode in through the roof at any time anyway and she'd also be swept away with the flood, not just the pictures.
Furthermore, if the water fills her lungs, where does she find the air to scream? No wonder ain't nobody hearing anything, you're underwater, Taylor.
If that's the best you've got then it looks like you'll be swept away with the flood just like Taylor was, hon.

I can't believe I just read through this whole thread. The tensions between the monsters Swifties and cats...
His tweet was barely shady and he's a grown ass man whose been in this industry for a long time, I'm sure he can have his own opinions.
Not sure why some are so riled up when a lot of people made similar comparisons on here weeks ago. I use 1989 and PRISM and I agree with him in some ways. PRISM and 1989 are both filled with fun carefree pop songs. Taylor explores some interesting genres it doesn't full experiment with them like DH or WoA. The choruses on PRISM are bigger, more pop, more showy. Katy's vocals are stronger.
Taylor on the other hand, is exploring these and doing it quite well. I love both albums.

So Taylor was able to make basically the same product as Katy and still outsell her 4x over? nnn I can see why people are fuming but there's no need to be bitter.
If you live like that, you live with ghosts.

nnnn im pretty sure you're joking here sammy sis but im gonna go with it anyway
The butterfiles being figurative as in the one in your stomach that make you feel like you can't breath in the most magnificent way turn to dust that covered the whole room what happens in a room full of dust? you can't breath it closes off your airways. so she punches a hole in the roof of this house her safety and defense from the rain to drown out the dust but by doing that she's let the rain in (sadness/emotion?) and it has nowhere to go but to fill up the room which could also be interpreted as lungs figuratively taking away all the memories (pictures) she was holding onto despite it being painful and constricting and now she is in danger of drowning again in the pure emotion now that she recognizes and validates it. its overwhelming and she feels like shes dying but she keeps it together on the outside so no one notices her suffering
