I don't understand how Grindr encourages people to have unprotected sex. Are there ads that pop up now that say "And be sure when you meet up to **** each other raw"? In that sense, she sounds very ignorant. I have straight friends who use sites like Plenty of Fish or OkCupid to basically find and **** randoms (as it's assumed everyone on Grindr does), and friends with Grindr who use it as an actual dating/socializing tool. Some also have met their significant others on it as well. Sure, people use all of these sites as a means of a quick hookup, but in some regions of the country, it's not just a tool to **** randoms.
And for the record I am NOT on Grindr, so I'm not trying to defend it bc I use it. Just think her generalizations -- and a lot of the people generalizing in this thread who agree that Grindr users are diseased -- make her sound ignorant.
