OK, so streamed this from start to finish twice now. My trinity is officially OOTW, IWYW and This Love - not surprising given they're some of the best off the original.
AYHTDWS, WD and Clean are also very very good.
I can see me skipping SIO and HYGTG in the future. Shame because HYGTG is a highlight off the original, but I just don't like his arrangement. It just doesn't suit the mellow/ballad vibe that he's gone for, it's too much of a happy song.
All in all, I really love it and it's so amazing experiencing one of my all time favourite albums in a new way. Can't wait for the CD release.

“1989” isn’t the first experience Adams had with Swift’s songs. He first met her around the time Swift was making her 2012 album “Red.” She came by his studio one day and the two worked on a song together. “I can appreciate somebody who loves clean lines when they write,” Adams said, praising Swift. “She has that natural ability to be very honest and be very real. It’s almost like she can stop time a little bit and take a really intense CAT scan of some emotional moment. You get a little three-dimensional view of it.”
EW: What do you admire about Swift as a songwriter and pop star?
RA: I was watching this Jimi Hendrix live performance last night and seeing just how chill he is. He’s doing all this stuff on guitar and just, like, whatever. It’s all easy to him. Taylor is like that. I find that so refreshing. Those songs are fragile and vulnerable at their core. They’re constructed from such an honest place. Those are the kind of songs…I don’t think they’re overshares. But they’re all completely giving, to the point that they move people to tears.
Over the summer, Swift’s 1989 sold more than 5 million copies in the U.S. alone. If the Adams album were to sell, say 5 million globally, Swift could pull in $1 million. And that still excludes any sales of singles.
nterestingly, Swift will also indirectly profit from plays on Spotify, a music-streaming service the artist has previously quarreled with. Swift removed almost all of her songs from Spotify, as she contends the service doesn’t adequately compensate artists. But the Adams version of the 1989 album is currently listed on Spotify.
