In school awhile ago we were talking about the Rwanda Genocide and how they actually killed the lighter skin members of the population cause everyone hated them so i don't think the light skin preference thing is true its a matter of self preference
Yeah, it wasn't like that...
To cut a long story short in Rwanda there were 2 major groups Hutu (majority) and Tutsi (minority).
They didn't really see themselves as different races but Belgian colonisers decided the Tutsi were better than the Hutus and so established a Tutsi monarchy and the Hutus were oppressed. Once Rwanda gained independence Belgian liberals felt bad about this so encouraged the Hutus to rise up against the Tutsi leading to the genocide of the Tutsis.
well according to what i have read the tutsi are lighter than the hutus? and the tutsis were favored by the europeans that took control of that zone?
No just no. It's shameful how belgians have twisted the story just beacuse they don't want to take responsibility of their sad and awful action and recognized that they are the reason of all that blood.
There is no such thing as an ethniy being light skinned than another, think people. Plus before these sad excuse of human beings arrived in Africa, most african had approximately the same shade. I'm so pissed right now. I can't believe that this is the story my kids will read in books some years from now.
I didn't demand, nor even ask, for people to change their sexual preferences. I just said that people having these sexual preferences to not include a group of people based on skin color is the reason why so many dark skinned blacks have self-hatred issues.
I think the discrimination in every day life and in the media is more responsible for that, really. And that does influence some people's decision to avoid dating a person of a certain race/skin shade
Hi my name is Skyler. Beyonce is a great artist but Janet is the queen. I love Mariah, too This post is prejudice but I'm gonna have fun posting 500 times a day in it.
Colorism runs DEEP in the black community. It harkens back to days of slavery when slaves were separated and relegated to work based on their skin tone.
The lighter blacks (house Negroes) were allowed to work in the house next to their master whereas the darker slaves were forced to work out in the fields (field Negroes). With years of mental and physical scarring and being told that their dark skin was a curse from God, blacks, particularly darker-hued blacks were left feeling inferior to whites and the lighter-hued blacks were put on a slight pedestal.
The general consensus amongst many in the black community is the closer someone resembles the western ideals of beauty, the better they are.

This isn't accurate. You used periods and proper tense.
