Japoy's Best Of 2010 | Top 20 Albums (10-09)
| 10. Timbaland - Shock Value II
This album may be considered a mess but for me I like listening to it especially by the beginning of this year. Timbaland released the 2nd part of his successful album Shock Value, unfortunately, even with a heavy number of collaborations, it doesn't seem to be well received. Nevertheless, I enjoyed some of the tracks from this album namely his hit collaboration with the lovely Katy Perry for If We Ever Meet Again. Miley Cyrus also also made a contribution here with We Belong To The Music and JoJo for Lose Control. Timbaland re-teams with Justin Timberlake for Carry Out while Brandy echristened herself Bran' Nu and shows up here on Meet in the Middle. Other collaborations included here are from OneRepublic, Daughtry, Keri Hilson & D.O.E. In the end, the most surprising thing about Shock Value II is that it didn't turn out better given all the talent involved. Despite that, this is a good album to listen to if you want to party and just have a good time.

| 09. Usher - Raymond V. Raymond
Usher makes a strong comeback this year with his later effort for Raymond V. Raymond. This album alludes to his recent divorce from Tameka Foster and this can be heard with the slow beat track for Papers. The lead single OMG featuring Will.I.Am is the album highlight which talks about an encounter with a woman in a club that's unlikely to last beyond tomorrow morning. The reggae-scented Pro Lover offers a cheerful justification for the one-night stand. One of my favorite upbeat tracks in this album is Lil Freak which features new comer Nicki Minaj. In the track She Don't Know, Usher makes the connection to his earlier work more explicit, ending most of his lines with a spirited interjection that openly echoes his up-tempo 2004 smash Yeah!. Other of my personal favorites here are Guilty, There Goes My Baby and Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home). Usher definitely did well again for this album for the year 2010. He scored another #1 album with a #1 single. He hasn't lose his touch especially with his music and I bet he can offer more hit singles and albums in the coming years. We'll just have to wait for that.
