Minds Without Fear delicately mixes Imogen Heap’s signature sound and traditional Hindi music to create an ethereal yet uplifting song that takes listeners on a journey into the familiar and the unknown. The song features thumping beats, as well as traditional Indian instruments, and Imogen singing in Hindi (which is also the highlight of the song). As the song comes to an end, there’s a few seconds of delay before Imogen Heap sings the last line while the thumping beat emerges from the background to close the song.

I’ve always wanted them to make a more upbeat music and What You Want just gave me that. The song starts off with pounding drums and Amy’s voice soaring over it before the guitars chug their way in. The song is laced with the piano tinkering in the background, sound effects that whistle in and out of the listener’s ears, cascading strings and background vocals that gives the song a very lush sound. Overall, the song is something you can headbang to and at the same time dance to as well, it’s just a fun song with a positive message. It is truly is, as Amy Lee stated, an “in your face” song.

I instantly fell in love with this song when I first heard it and I never thought that it would garner such massive success and of course the song deserves all of its achievements. The song is quite a bit a departure from her more jazzy sound on 19. The delivery is just topnotch. This song has more fire in it, especially with Adele’s vocals piercing right through the heart of the song while the thumping beats lead the marching line. So it’s no question as to why this song wooed millions of people

This is the first song that I’ve heard from her and I thought it was very enigmatic, almost “tribal-esque” in nature. Listeners will find themselves being envelop in its mystifying atmosphere as the percussions dance from one ear to another. The light yet dark tone of Lykke Li’s delicate vocals will chill listeners as she sings the story of how she yearns to be with her lover. It also doesn’t hurt that the song is quite catchy.
