I leave a minimum of $1.00 no matter what.
I like to think, what if that was me...
Yesterday, my girl left an $80 tip after she saw my measly $2.50 tho....

Waiters directly serve you, make sure you are taken care of. Good ones do it really well. People don't directly interact with construction workers, how would they be tipped?, maids DO get tipped at hotels by good guests, and janitors are salaried positions...

So if the Walmart Manager starts expecting tips for helping you around the store, they deserve tips?
Again, 1 sided points.

I can't at you staying pressed at all these things, just because I pointed our tipping ain't necessary which you even said in your country isn't done much.
Have a nice seat.

Put me on hush then.
Stop asking me to have a nice seat, it's NOT that cool anymore.

How are you going to know people spat in it when it's mixed in your pasta sauce?
Try not tipping for long and you'd get a reputation with your locals. You will wish you tipped in the first place.

People who don't leave tips are jerks and deserve crappy service wherever they go for the rest of their lives

Exactly. I am a server, and I have also worked retail. Being a server is BY FAR harder work than being a ****in cashier. If you've never done it, then you really need to not comment on what we do. How about make your drink, take your order and make sure it comes out the way YOU want it, deal with your ****in loud ass kids, clean up your ****, refill your drinks, etc. I hate when people don't tip. If I've waited on you for one hour, an you leave me nothing, I have essentially made less than $2 in that hour after taxes. You don't want someone to wait on you? Do it yourself at home. My time and service is not free.

What? Shouldn't it be like a set amount?

These are the same people that are arguing over giving tips to not be cheap, but can't manage the money in an actual notable way.

If so, you can search my profile and follow me real quick since it's on Private and see my pictures.

It's not like the waiter cooks the food..
Cashiers arguably do more.

They take your orders, put the orders in, bring your food to you, and check on you throughout your meal to refill your drinks and see if you need anything else, all while doing the same for four other tables. Decent people would appreciate a college student's ability to do that with a smile on their face enough to give them a few dollars.

I have never wasted my money at an expensive restaurant, but when I do go to other restaurants, I usually give them $2 or $3. However, if the option on the debit machine shows up where you can type it, it depends on the mood I'm in and how good the service was. That's when I'll do 10-15%

Well this was more heated than I expected rolling up in here.
I tip if I'm using my credit card. If I went to ATM and pulled cash out, I'm usually doing more for the night and don't plan to spare some extra tip. And that's not because "I'm cheap" or "too broke". I understand these people make little, but it's not like I don't have things to take care of myself.

Writing, tapping things on a machine, going up to people and putting more Coke in their cup, etc.
The agony.

My points are 1 sided and then you come back with that? Your age is showing, good luck in life with your terrible, selfish attitude

I get joy out of eating my Chicken Alfredo at Applebees and not buying and checking out my dandruff shampoo at the Walmart cash register. Both takes money away from me but one is mandatory where the other is more leisure and entertainment.

You're the exact type of person who doesn't deserve to be tipped or even need to be working in the food service industry. Disgusting.

Sorry, I don't give info that tracks me to people who I don't know, but we can easily solve this on my Instagram in which I can provide real photos of myself.
Would you prefer me write a quote in a picture and hold it up and you can see on my Instagram? I can easily shut it down.

And since we're bringing who works harder into this, then why don't we tip Construction Workers, Maids, Janitors, and everyone else who works just as hard and if not harder than Waitors?
Ya'll keep bringing up weak facts that apply on more than 1 side, then when someone mentions it you ignore or bring up something else.
|
This kind of **** pisses me off. Like for real. I hope some waiter ****s up your order and spits in your food next time and then tells you to **** off when you leave. It's not cool at all. I hope I never serve your cheap disrespectful ass in a restaurant. To minimize the work I do to that of a CASHIER?! Smdh. You have obviously never waited tables.
