Both Stephen Crabb and Liam Fox have endorsed Theresa May, which makes it more likely that their supporters will switch to her rather than a Brexiteer.

Theresa May has amassed such a lead in the parliamentary Conservative Party that it is said she can effectively choose her competitor.

It now seems plausible that May could strike a deal with Leadsom as early as Friday, giving Andrea the chancellorship and May the premiership. Supposition, of course, but it shouldn't be ruled out. It would help both of them, and the electoral damage done would likely be minimal considering there isn't an election due for four years. The question is, how serious is Andrea Leadsom?

I mean, she has some horrible policies, but it definitely made me respect her as a person and understand why she deserves the top office.

Andrea is too inexperienced, she'd crash the country in a few months (hopefully killing Tory electoral chances?), and even Gove admits he'd be an awful PM.

In fact, she once got so frustrated by a civil servant's inability to answer a direct question, she banged her head on the table

Blair and Cameron barely had any experience and they got into the office just fine, the country didn't crash. Compared to them, she can't do any worse.

Insightful article, a good read as well. A lot of people complain about her zero tolerance policies but have we had a terrorist attack in the years she's been in office? No. The home secretary role is extremely grueling, many politicians have lost their political careers because of it. Yes Theresa has made some questionable blunders while in office but her track record is otherwise immaculate when compared to previous people in her office. She is an extremely talented politician, great orator and has all the burning leadership qualities this country currently needs.

Andrea is clueless and while she makes cute gifs, she seriously would have no clue on how to run the country. She's just a BREXIT opportunist, not a Prime Minister.

sis what are you talking about? Blair and Cameron were in office and were MPs much longer than Andrea who only got elected in 2010 and is a junior minister

I'm only saying what I've read online, many times over and over again.

Liam Fox:

He says he is standing because he has the breadth of experience needed and that he supported a Brexit, which is important.

"Neither Tony Blair or David Cameron has cabinet experience before they became leader" he says, but concedes that they both had time as leader of the opposition.

They say she lacks experience to be PM. I seem to remember both Tony Blair and David Cameron got into office with no former Ministerial experience at all, and precious little business or private sector experience either. In contrast Andrea is well prepared.

I still cannot see Leadsom winning the leadership contest. I think this has to be one of the worst ever in British history. The more I see of Leadsom, the more I sort of like her (as far as a Conservative goes) but I think the Tory party will go with loyalty to Cameron over change. Politics post-2008 has been the pits globally. Maybe Trudeau seems to be competent but I can see him letting down a lot of people.

But now we're leaving the EU, UKIP's job is pretty much done. They have no campaign to run. The majority of their 2015 GE campaign was based on leaving the EU.

I wouldn't be so sure. If the next Prime Minister fails to deliver sound negotiations with the EU UKIP could attract a lot of voters.

What could UKIP do though? Leave MORE haha?

Plus, it's likely the negotiations might not even be DONE in time... people are saying we might not even trigger article 50 until early next week. It will NOT take 2 years for us to leave at all.
