Okay, I thought this was trash at first and wrote it off almost instantly, but it really is a bop isn't it? I didn't think Missy was capable of making good music anymore, look at all her attempted comebacks and collabs, but she came out of nowhere with this. It starts annoying but grows on you so fast. So happy to have the sis back with us.
Pharrell is... also present.
Bop of the year goes to...
For real, this song is amazing and so so catchy, ATRL just hates it cus it's sung by a man, a black one at that. I'm so glad mainstream latched onto this song, it's perfect especially in a club. The lyrics are so... mature too. The whole progressive angle of the song is so cool. I wish I was his queen...

The stand-out track from the album, even if I can't pronounce the name of it.
Very ear-wormy, the songs initially starts with a sound very reminiscent of
Have One On Me, but halfway through it shifts into a more downbeat song that really elevates it. I love songs that transform like this. It's a very dramatic track that recalls past greatness put doesn't dwell on it and keeps moving forward.
The dramatics, V V girl
This exemplifies the alien electro sound I mentioned. The shaky, tapping beats and her wavery vocals that culminates in that event of a chorus, with her going full theatre on us. It's an ethereal moment really. However this position really should be this and Instincts (or they should be one song...) as they complete the package and really make this the album's shining moment.
Tough choosing a favourite song from this album, but ultimately I think that touching speech at the end of the track won me over for this gem. Not to discredit the rest of the song though.
Okay, I wasn't super hyped for the album (and didn't even listen to it til like November) because No Sleeep took a long, long, long time to grow on me. Throw in the trashness of BURNITUP! and this was the only pre-release track I connected with. That backing track is so cool and funky, the lyrics are lovely and Jan sounds great here. What an introduction.
