I actually wasn't aware by default the word was labelled as a slur. It appeared to me depending on the context it was used as I seen people who identity as transgendered/transsexual used it.

But I like how it is a slur now, the word obviously carried some bad negative connotations and stereotypes associated with it.

This has already been stated so many times but again: You're not trans, so you're opinion on whether or not it's offensive is irrelevant. It's extremely different from calling a bisexual person "bi" as it has negative connotation too it and is more than just an abbreviation.

There's transvestites as well as transgendered and transsexual. Here's the difference

Someone who is transsexual is not a "tranny" as that word is short for transvestite and they're 2 different things.

It's a word. All three of those words have been taken by their respective communities and their meanings have been warped. It seems perfectly acceptable for a gay man or woman to toss the word "f*ggot" around, me and most of my gay friends do from time to time and it's not used in a derogatory fashion. Same goes for the black community. Again it's about context.

No decent person should use those words to victimise or personally offend someone.
