I love how it takes social issues to get people on this forum typing more than three words in a post

Neither of those points are exactly valid, however

And I fail to see how one can own an accent by not an entire way of living life??
I mean??

They were NOT the first to create that. Maybe they were the first government to set up that system, but the concept of everyone having a vote in whatever was not created by them. And even then, the history books credit them anyways.
How is democracy a way of living life? It's a system. There are only so many ways to do things. One person can be in charge, two people, or everyone can make a decision. How did they INVENT that? It's make no sense.

I didn't say "NOBODY HAS HATED ON MACKLEMORE EVER SO STOP IT!!1!!"
I said, more people RESPECTED him after both events (more so the latter event). For you to insinuate, "There's no point in Macklemore (or in this case Iggy) in making a statement or trying because people will still hate" is freaking stupid.
That's the equivalent of someone back in 2004 saying "Gays should stop marching and protesting since gay marriage has no chance of becoming legal all over the US." Yet here we are 10 years later and 35+ states have it considered or it's already legal.
It's never about letting the hate outweigh your opinion. It's about putting your honest opinion out there and not caring what people think of it.
Why stay quiet when you're one of the biggest star of 2014? There's nothing to dodge but your own fears and insecurity that you're not intelligent enough to speak on the topic or at least show some sort of solidarity.
She has people like Zendaya who is on the damn Disney Channel (who have been confirmed to tell their stars not to say certain things ever) showing more of a stance than her.
That's sad.

And you didn't read my post either because I didn't say your post(s) were wrong, I just said that even though he did those things, he was still criticized by many of you up here. I wasn't speaking about how the industry has this new found respect for him , I was speaking to the usual suspects in this thread.
Again, it's not Iggy's place to have to give her thoughts/views/questions/comments/concern on everything happening in the world. Would it be great? Sure! But she's not obligated She's a musician and not a political . Fantastic for Zendaya though.

The epic amount of mess in this post
You can't just rewrite history, and not at least provide a colorful and ideally entertaining (...if imaginary) alternative.
So the Greeks didn't create democracy according to you... so who did?
And how is democracy and the conepts of freedom and liberty not a way of life? It's quite literally everything. It's the reason you're able to be on this forum right now and not out dressed in chains and moving a heap of cement blocks from one corner to another like some poor soul in North Korea.
And lastly, they invented it by thinking up the concept. The same way anyone ever invents anything. Think it and then put it into practice.
It isn't hard to grasp.

"I just said that even though he did those things, he was still criticized by many of you up here."
Then call those people out and stop generalizing everyone. It's that simple.
"Again, it's not Iggy's place to have to give her thoughts/views/questions/comments/concern on everything happening in the world."
NOBODY is asking nor expecting that.
One more time since you clearly have a reading issue,

People want Iggy to prove that she isn't a label puppet, a empty pop act using hip-hop culture to further herself and have something to offer society with besides fickle singles.
When people like T.I comes out the side gate and fights Iggy's battle for her, it just makes people think "Wow, this girl really is just a gimmick. She can't form her own opinions or take a stand in anything. She just let's men and her label speak for her and loves the money she gets from making urban music without actually giving a **** about the people who belong to that culture."
It's 2014, she's a woman in a position of power, speak your mind.
That's all people keep asking for before completely writing her off as inauthentic.

She has the platform, she has the topic given to her on a silver platter. It's a topic very important to hip-hop and rap culture and she's the biggest in both right now so she should say something. Literally if she tweeted just "#ICantBreathe" do you know how BIG that would have been? But no, let's prove that she truly is an inept twit who let's her label and T.I decide her life and pick everything for her by telling her "Be silent, Queen Iggy. They are just hatas!!!1!"
Women in history fought hard to get the right to speak up and the fact she chooses not to speak (for or against it) is a kick in their face.
That's why I brought Zendaya into it. She's on a stricter cord that Iggy could ever be and Zendaya's not even that connected to the issues going on (neither directly or indirectly) but she took it upon herself as a human being and a woman to say something about it.
Did empathy die or does Iggy not have any of that? (rhetorical question because I actually don't care about this topic anymore)

Just stop already.
All you're doing is saying Iggy isn't responsible to say anything, then explaining in a sh*t ton of paragraphs, why you essentially feels she is responsible to say something, and everything.
She doesn't owe you or anyone else anything. And you pretending that she does is painfully transparent when you consider that people who actually are black & within the hip hop world, and have a much bigger platform than she, have yet to address any of these issues in any real way. But of course no one is outraged about that.

Except I didn't say that?
Essentially, all I said is "She should say something because she's the poster child for rap/hip-hop at the moment and she's a human being and a woman."
Not sure where you lost the meaning but ok, keep trolling.
She owes me nothing and I'm entitled to my opinion.
Excuse me for using an online forum for what it's made for?

I was. If the statement didn't apply to you, then you didn't need to quote me in the first place.
"rhetorical question because I actually don't care about this topic anymore)"
Then leave and stop trying to give me paragraphs of extraness and aggression taking issues with what I said if it supposedly didn't apply to you... I'm not disagreeing with anything you're saying, at all
