Did I ever tell you about the personal tragedy that happened the day of
Born This Way's release?
On that faithful day, May 23rd 2011, I immediately went after school to my nearby Best Buy to buy
Born This Way. While I was just staring in amazement at the whole row of
Born This Way CDs, someone else mentioned to me that she was gonna have a signing in Union Square Best Buy. I got really excited, and as soon as I got home, called my mom up saying that we needed to go as soon as she got home. Despite her being tired from work, she understood how much I wanted to meet Gaga, so she took me there. By the way, at that point, i had glittered up my only leather jacket with the words 'born this way' and wore just that and boxer-briefs.
So anyway, the only mistake I made was not knowing that for signing/meet and greet events, you need tickets and/or wristbands. So when I got there, I saw this whole line of Gaga stans who had been waiting since the night before. I asked a Best Buy representative where the line started, and he asked me for my wristband. When I asked him "What wristband?", he told me all about how you need a wristband to enter Best Buy events. I gave him my CD and receipt, and begged him to check if there were any wristbands left. He went into the store, and after talking with some other workers for 10 minutes, came back and told me there were no more wristbands.
Let me tell you, on the trains back home and when I actually did get back home, I had the biggest meltdown of my whole life. Almost a "Marry The Night"-video style meltdown.
Thank god I know better now, so in the case that she does have a signing here in NYC for
ARTPOP, I know to look online for info about it.
