I agree. The single will ride on hype at first, so it makes sense to not play the VMA card at the same time but stagger the promo to last longer. Tackling longevity should be key with this campaign.
In an ideal world, I'd have it:
Week 1 (22nd July) - Surprise return to Twitter, announce dates + debut artwork.
Week 2 (29th July) - Single drops
Week 3 (5th August) - Video debuts
Week 4 (12th August)
Week 5 (19th August) - VMA performance
Week 6 (26th August)
Week 7 (2nd September) - APP launch parties (NYC, London, Tokyo)
Week 8 (9th September) - ARTPOP release
