Blaming Hyuna for a business decision is kinda tough. It mostly comes down to iHCube not being confident in their own abilities to take an established group like 4minute and produce for them the concept needed to recapture public mind share.
A girl group can survive with out massive sales or even a massive fanbase if they have a share of male fans the group can be used to market stuff to. 4minute have few male fans. Hyuna, when away from 4minute, has male fans. It's the lazy safe decision to make as a business.
