It felt like they just slotted Kirstie's scenes in last minute. Pretty sure they did. She only starred shooting like last week! Bumpy first ep, but the Chanels saved it.

Omg, I just realized something! It's probably a red herring but worth mentioning...

The woman in the 1985 is pregnant, and her husband says "how's my son?" so obviously it's a boy, also note that the husband is mixed race. When Zayday's talking to Dr Cascade in the present day, he says some of the awful medical treatment his family had experienced over the years inspired him to become a Dr, obviously noting the negligence of the partying medical staff in the flash back. Probably super obvious, but still

Hester talking about double jeopardy is probably the best scene the show has ever done.

I absolutely LOVED the episode. The Netflix scene and Everything the Chanels did (EVERYTHING they said and did was great, the recreation of season 1's opening scene whew). It wasn't as good as Season 1' premiere, but it showed a lot of possibilities.
