Hmm, I just thought about how The Voice songs will have 2-3 full days (+a few hours) for debut sales weeks. Instead of 5-6.
Though they do tend to be super frontloaded as it’s only during the first day or so that downloads count for votes.

I'd be surprised if iTunes Music Store was still open in 2020. If it's very dead, then they'll just be losing money by keeping it open.

I don't think airplay will ever be the main component ever again. I think it'll be like 25-33% when it's just Airplay + Streams. I think they'll also re-weight On-Demand streams to count more than a regular stream.

I'm quite sad for iTunes really. In 2005 they were the brand new thing, now numbers are decreasing so much it's tragic. This WILL hurt pop music for sure, if artists get less revenue.

I guess Spotify and Youtube make iTunes kind of reduntant.

They'll count 10% of an album's sales into a song's H100 position, since the song is about 10% of the album.

Makes as much sense as 10 downloads of a song being equivalent to the parent album selling a copy.

I think only Paid On-Demand should be weighed more than other streams.

Spotify Freeloader people are thus not entirely propping up the chart.

Honestly, I can never remember what that song sounds like. More like an album track to my ears but I guess he's flavor of the month in the US right now.
