Coven was not BAD like the bandwagon haters seem to think, and I do love it, but I will admit that Asylum was better and more rounded... And lacked a ton of plot holes.
I can't decide between Asylum or Coven for the title sequence. Both were amazing. A lot of things in Coven's didn't relate to the story at all, though, because it showed more of a dark, stereotypical side of witchcraft & voodoo, but virtually none of that was in the actual show. Asylum's sequence was relevant to the plot.
I just don't like the Asylum intro's editing and cinematography. The sped up clips and certain angles cheapen it for me. Coven's intro was very clean and I love the grain.

That moment when a crazy patient jumped at the grated window just before Sarah's credit >>>>
Moments like that were what gave me life in that sequence.

partially agreed.. asylums intro is great but coven is just on another level
No. I think I would have remembered skipping through countless plots being thrown at me, almost as if Ryan was just picking ideas out of a hat and throwing them at the writers and demanding them to include them all. Filthy old Queen needs to get ha ADHD under control.

"Oh a mental institution in the 60's? That's cute, but I think we need to have the man who supposedly killed all those women be abducted by aliens and have him fingered on screen countless times. Cover him in slime too."
"No that's not enough. Throw some Nazi's in there too, it's close enough to WW2 anyway. Maybe the Aliens will **** with the Nazi?"
Like good ****ing bye Ryan. I loved Asylum to death and I embraced all those plots, but jesus H Christ.
Girl look through the Coven thread - I was one of the FEW defending the season.
Minus the finale I loved it.
dd My bad. Got you mixed up with someone else, then.
But yeah, I lived during the season. I still do; I rewatch episodes every now and then. Madison, Misty & Myrtle were LIFE. Ironically, they all died, and NONE of their deaths made sense.
Asylum's finale was flawless, minus the fact that Jessica had like 5 minutes of screen time (In all 3 seasons, she has like minimal screen time. I don't get it.).

Misty's death still cracks me up till this day.
I really want to know what was going on in the writers heads

I mean, I GUESS her death makes sense, but the fact that she DISINTEGRATED proves they were trying to rush through and couldn't think of a proper ending. Then Madison had all that power yet couldn't stop Kyle from strangling her, then Myrtle RANDOMLY confessed and let haself die? Like...
Ideally, Misty would've lived. Myrtle would've killed Madison for not reviving Zoe (or Madison would kill Myrtle for trying to kill her) then whichever one survived that would be burned at the stake.
