One of the interesting songs that I loved for a long time is It Girl by Jason Derulo. I know some of you will ignore this in the comments by giving me 3/4 rating or whatever and stating this should not be higher, but I don’t care. I slowly like this song especially with the irresistible whistle part all throughout the song. It Girl talks about how Jason has searched all over and finally found the girl of his dreams. He also affirms that the girl means much more than a Grammy Award to him. This is my favorite from Future History, probably the song that I will remember from this album. This may not be as a success like his singles on his debut album but it doesn’t matter, I got addicted to this for a couple of weeks as it kept playing on the radios. It even spent two weeks at the spot in my countdown and stayed on the top 20 for about three months. Good enough for It Girl to be in the top 20 for my list. I'm hoping he can still provide us with such great R&B tracks in the future such as It Girl.

The highest charting song from Rihanna on my list is the 3rd single from Loud, S&M. This song is easily one of the standouts from that album and one of my personal favorites. S&M is such a sexy and flirty song and Rihanna did a great job in providing the catchy hook-ups. Rihanna sings about sticks and stones might break her bones but chains and whips excite her. I even liked it more when she decided to have femme fatale Britney Spears on the remix version. Vocally speaking, it’s not a best collaboration but the sexiness of both singers made it remix worked for me pushing this song to #1 on Billboard Hot 100 earning Rihanna her 10th and Britney her 5th. I was really hoping for a music video for this one but it never happened, I would’ve included the remix version instead if that happened. We’ll both the original and remix version are my favorite, that’s why S&M is charting this high. I just hope Rihanna will continue to give us smash hits like this one. Let’s see what the Talk That Talk has in store for us. We will definitely see her in the Best Of for 2012.

You’ve seen her on the previous update with Criminal, now Britney is here once again this time with the lead single of Femme Fatale for Hold It Against Me. The song that got everyone got excited about for the comeback of the pop princess early last year. I too was really waiting for the whole 2010 for a new music from her and finally the wait is over. Britney delivered us a great and sexy upbeat track and resulting to an instant #1 hit everywhere. As for the music video, we were offered with a 14-day teaser each day in preparation for the epic video directed by Jonas Åkerlund. The video is quite entertaining and I even watched it over and over again when it came out. I personally like the wedding gown concept where Britney’s classic videos where shown and the meltdown part which she spits paints on her hand is really epic. Hold It Against Me is a strong lead single, it even debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 making it her 4th on her career and even broke some records when it was released. Though it is one of my favorites from Femme Fatale, it’s still being outshined by two more of her singles which will be revealed on the next updates. Britney stans, stay tune for that.

One of the female pop artists I adore for 2011 is none other than Katy Perry. The 5th single Last Friday Night is one of my favorites from her spectacular record-breaking Teenage Dream. Katy has such a creative mind in providing different concepts with her videos and for this single, she introduced as to one of her alter egos Kathy Beth Terry. I effin’ adore the music video from beginning till the end. Such a hilarious video where Kathy Beth Terry shows having fun on a Friday night alongside Rebecca Black. You all know that with this single, Katy Perry managed to be the first female artist to have 5 #1’s one on album, a feat only done by the late king of pop Michael Jackson. Some criticize her for the desperation of having a #1 song by remixing it, but I do not even care. Who would’ve wanted a #1 song on her career? At this point, I was convinced that Katy is one of my favorite artists. 2011 proved to be another great milestone on her career; breaking record after the other. We’ll continue the Katy write-ups on the next updates as we get closer to the top 10.
