Gotye, Tyga Debut + Adele vs. Jessie J vs. Flo Rida for #1
Let's see what's on tap for this week's countdown, for the week ending 21 January 2012:
- YMCM has produced some of the biggest rap stars of this past half decade and today I introduce you to Tyga, who is on his way to becoming the next big star on the label. His single "Rack City" is already in the top 10 on iTunes and this week you voted "Rack City" on the countdown!
- Also debuting this week is indie darling Gotye with help from Kimbra on the infectious single "Somebody That I Used To Know". Will this little-engine-that-could be a strong force on the countdown in the coming weeks?
- The battle for #1 intensifies as Katy Perry relinquishes her spot at the top after just one week. Who will be the benefactor? Can Adele return to the summit with "Set Fire To The Rain", or will the dominos fall in the right place for Jessie J to finally grab her first #1 on the chart? And don't count out Flo Rida just yet, who has to have a pretty good feeling about grabbing the #1 this week.
