Nah, last year the house DJ was deadmau5, but often house artists will invite other artists to collaborate with them in performances. Last year deadmau5 invited Robyn, Travie McCoy, and Jason Derulo, which is why she was there for a brief minute. But yeah, what you said is the gist of what the house artist basically does.
So far, the only house acts I recall have been: Moby (1999), The Raconteurs (2006), Mark Ronson (2007), Travis Barker & DJ AM (2008), Wale & UCB (2009), and deadmau5 (2010).
Apparently, as the house artist Jessie J will also be DJ-ing that night. I wonder if she'll have any collaborators... Maybe she'll do "Price Tag" featuring special guest Xenia from
The Voice???
