Burton failed so many times to be funny. Johnny Deep could have also done better, it wasn't awful but I expected more just because it was Tim Burton.

It's definitely one of his weakest films. The whole movie felt really rushed. Sure, it had entertaining moments, but the entire time I couldn't help but wonder "What's the point?"

I didn't think those numbers were that bad until I saw this.

Forget about Battleship toppling The Avengers this weekend.

Universal's attempt to mimic the Transformers franchise was able to rake in only $420,000 from midnight shows. How bad is that exactly? Well, Think Like a Man was able to hit $500,000.

Most true blockbusters are able to hit at least $5 million from midnight shows. This does not bode well

I don't think the movie is bad, it just had terrible release timing.

The Avengers is a monster right now and is destroying everything in its path. For example, I know someone that has seen The Avengers 4 times already and is going again.

FRIDAY 12:45 PM: What a disaster at the North American box office this early summer weekend with everything from today and a week ago tanking except for Marvel’s The Avengers which should make another $53M. Universal’s Battleship is stuck at $9M-$11M today and $30M (which is around the same meager amount where Warner Bros’ Dark Shadows debuted last weekend and is on life support now). Parament’s The Dictator which opened weakly Wednesday is completely falling apart even for an ‘R’ rated movie with just $12M. And Lionsgate’s What To Expect When You’re Expecting is beating it with $15M. Hollywood is in a very dark mood today — and I’m finding that the movie moguls are not appreciating my humor when I ask, “Are your bags packed?”

Its international run is pretty much over. It's at $220M. At most it will do the same as John Carter ($270M). A sequel is pretty much never going to happen a this point.
