What I feel people neglect to appreciate is how massive the jump from his pre/non-Gaga stuff was to his work on BTW. I personally really like his effort on the album, but who knows what he's capable of on ARTPOP with more experience etc. with pop production behind him.
Same went for Fernando. Stars Are Blind was no indication that he could have helped bring DITD, TEOG, HML etc. into existence.
Give the guys a chance!
