if there's anything that I respect Gaga for, it's her ability to fully immerse herself in whatever era it is, even when it isn't doing well commercially .

What fans need to be constantly reminded of, seemingly, is that everything has its time and place. TF, TFM, BTW and AP can and should only happen when they did. She has evolved and we have evolved along with her.
Working with RedOne, for example, doesn't mean she'll repeat TF/M's success. And her performances since 2009 VMA performance haven't been lesser just because they haven't caused the same stir - you can only shock people like that once. Same goes for the Meat Dress and Vessel.
