I don't think Burqa will fully be about feminism but it may have some feminism lines.

I feel like it's influenced by what happened in Indonesia during the Ball.

Some people actually like to wear Burqas, including gaga, so i doubt she would say "burn your burqas" lol.

I imagine it is a feminist anthem to a degree, but she wouldn't be that blunt.

Burqa is probably being used as a metaphor for oppression, or concealing yourself under societies ideal. Rebelling against doing/being what your told to do/be. I'm really not expecting something as straight forward as "ladies burn your burqas, f*ck yo misogynistic men", although I doubt she'll present "burqas" as a good thing.

She should honestly just drop "Burqa" all together. I don't believe she possesses enough knowledge about the Muslim religion in order to write a song about it. What a lot of people don't understand is that some Muslim women do not mind wearing the burqa and quite often choose to wear it, so the whole "feminist anthem, fight oppression" is offensive because it implies all women are forced under the Muslim religion. I know she loves controversy, but this isn't the kind she should be dabbling in.

Honestly. Like, I'm expecting some Judas/Black Jesus try-hard mess. She honestly just doesn't do "controversial" songs very well.

Some women supporting misogynistic doctrine doesn't negate it being misogynistic though.

By the same token, some gays support that being gay is a sin and gay marriage is wrong. It's hard to shake centuries of oppression and ignore what their religion demands, to see clearly.

However, I do agree that it's dodgy territory and she better be well versed in it all because she'll only look bad otherwise. I don't mind her flirting with controversy via metaphors but I hope she doesn't try and make Burqa really about Islam and what not. It's kind of boring if nothing else to go with the obvious.
