Poker Face is 10X Platinum on my iTunes, if I add the version where I cut out the instrumental before the bridge/rap and also add 50 plays from the fanmade Monster Ball version.
On the Dance in the Dark/Bad Romance discussion, I have to say thsoe two tracks, along with So Happy I Could Die (a personal favorite, probably the best and most obscure and disturbing lyrics Gaga has written) and Teeth (SO underrated. I used to hate it and skip it before, but it's so good), are Gaga's best work on TFM and absolutely flawless pop records.
DITD has a gorgeous Garibay production and the lyrics are simply breath taking. The way she reinforces "she's a mess she's a mess she's a mess" over those brilliant beats gives me the chills. The lyrics are so powerful.
But let's face it... Bad Romance will go down in history as one of THE defining pop records of all time. Along with the numerous performances Gaga made of it, it has the already legendary video, an absolutely gorgeous melody and the whole melodrama surrounding it ends up making it one of the most expressive records ever. You cannot help but sing your heart and your guts out during the song, especially the "I DON'T WANNA BE FRIENDS!" bit and the final chorus. I for one get all theatrical with the track.
Bad Romance is everything a pop record should be: remarkable, with a gorgeous and versatile melody, great vocals, great lyrics, an epic video and so intense that it completely eats you and takes you away for 3 and half minutes.
