the huge decline arguments are ridiculous either way. no one is expected to sell 14 million albums per era continually. the 'decline' thing is just what katy fans and madonna fans say anyway.

but it's kinda true. The Fame did what it did and then The Fame Monster (+ its US platinum EP) did more.

Born This Way was a continuation of that success imo. ARTPOP was the backlash to over-staturation and bad management / marketing + a messy artistic direction.

C2C proves she can sell anything. LG5 will prove whether or not she'll be a 'main pop girl' in the future.

So if The Fame sold 6 million as a stand-alone album, an actual breakdown of Gaga's sales would be:

The Fame - 6 million
The Fame Monster - 10 million
Born This Way - 7 million
ARTPOP - 2 million

Like, it looks great to group the first two albums as one because it gives us a huge 16 million figure but it looks a lot more evenly distributed this way.
