News from NC
Quote:
Wake County residents will now have more places to vote early ahead of the Nov. 8 election, the North Carolina State Board of Elections ruled Thursday.
The board voted 3-2 to approve a proposal from the lone Democrat on the Wake County Board of Elections to expand the number of voting sites from one to nine during the first week of early voting, which starts Oct. 20.
“More Wake County voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballot at a time and place that is convenient to them. That’s a good thing, no matter how you spin it,” said Brian Fitzsimmons, chairman of the Wake County Democratic Party.
Wake has more registered voters – 684,753 – than any other county in the state.
Wake tends to vote Democratic more than the rest of the state, but its election board – like all three-member county election boards in North Carolina – is run by a Republican majority.
Wake is a swing county that could play a major role in state and national elections. In the past two gubernatorial races, the county supported Democrat Bev Perdue in 2008 and Republican Pat McCrory in 2012.
Ezzell said Wake’s additional first-week voting sites will now include Apex Community Center, Avery Street Recreation Center in Garner, Chavis Community Center in Southeast Raleigh, Herb Young Community Center in Cary, Northern Regional Center in Wake Forest, Lake Lynn Community Center in Raleigh, Hunt Recreation Center in Holly Springs and Eastern Regional Center in Zebulon.
The state’s ruling on Wake also maintains the 20 sites the county had planned to open between Oct. 27 and Nov. 5.
Meanwhile, the state board voted to keep the majority of a plan Orange County officials adopted last month that sets a 15-day early voting schedule that includes five locations. The plan does not include Sunday voting, but state officials directed Orange to open sites at 8 a.m. on the Saturday before election day, rather than 9 a.m.

The GOP-led state board retained Sunday voting in several counties but generally declined to expand or eliminate it. The board also expanded voting hours in big counties surrounding Raleigh and Charlotte to handle presidential-year turnout.

Also, legal teams will be monitoring any future plans and are perched to sue if they don't feel that the early voting accommodations are adequate
May my Tarheels lift Hillary to victory and flush McCrory.

Wow I can't believe Hillary said that. I thought it must have been off the cuff, but then I saw the video and it was definitely planned. Not unifying language at all.

Hillary getting that Humans of New York promo (part 2):
Hillary Clinton shared Humans of New York's photo.
7 hrs
"Women are seen through a different lens. It’s not bad. It’s just a fact. It’s really quite funny. I’ll go to these events and there will be men speaking before me, and they’ll be pounding the message, and screaming about how we need to win the election. And people will love it. And I want to do the same thing. Because I care about this stuff. But I’ve learned that I can’t be quite so passionate in my presentation. I love to wave my arms, but apparently that’s a little bit scary to people. And I can’t yell too much. It comes across as ‘too loud’ or ‘too shrill’ or ‘too this’ or ‘too that.’ Which is funny, because I’m always convinced that the people in the front row are loving it.” —Hillary to @Humans of New York
This is the photo's original caption:
“I’m not Barack Obama. I’m not Bill Clinton. Both of them carry themselves with a naturalness that is very appealing to audiences. But I’m married to one and I’ve worked for the other, so I know how hard they work at being natural. It’s not something they just dial in. They work and they practice what they’re going to say. It's not that they're trying to be somebody else. But it's hard work to present yourself in the best possible way. You have to communicate in a way that people say: ‘OK, I get her.’ And that can be more difficult for a woman. Because who are your models? If you want to run for the Senate, or run for the Presidency, most of your role models are going to be men. And what works for them won’t work for you. Women are seen through a different lens. She shouldn't have said it. Calling out his base directly provides more fodder for the media, excites his base and will drive his numbers up. She WILL be asked about this and she better have a good answer prepared.
Aside from the birther issue, I also think she needs to lay off the race/alt right talk though, and leave it to her surrogates (hopefully Michelle)

Y'all are exaggerating too much. And no you don't unite behind racism, sexism, homophobia, and any other form of bigotry. Tf???
Anyone mad or worried about her comment is the problem.

Yeah that comment doesn't help her. Even though I wouldn't stereotype 25% of America that way, I thinks she has the right to believe it. Probably would have kept it to myself though.

Normal, decent people don't. Trump supporters don't fall into either category.
The upside to this is that it may lead to investigations/news stories about Trump supporters. Lauer's abysmal performance has elevated some of the political reporting in the last few days. I'm praying for stories on his supporters and more footage of their behavior at his rallies

I can see Donald lowering his window and throwing the newspaper into the yard. Why does that give me Mariah teas if she ever had to do some community service?

It will be funny if Trump calls her out on her comment when is has been built around "being tired of political correctness".

In terms of who wins, early voting makes a difference. In the past couple of presidential elections, the Democratic Party has benefited the most from early and absentee voting.
President Obama and the Democratic Party built a formidable get-out-the-vote operation in the 2008 election and continued perfecting this into 2012. According to NBC News Exit Polls from 2012, Obama beat Mitt Romney by 7 points among voters who cast ballots before Election Day. Among Election Day voters, he beat Romney by just a single percentage point—49 percent to 48 percent. Obama secured a 2012 victory in part due to the early lead he banked before Election Day.
In 2008, NBC Exit Polls showed that Obama lost the Election Day vote but still managed to beat Republican candidate John McCain in North Carolina.
Though majorities of white, Black and Hispanic voters cast early ballots, nearly three-quarters (72 percent) of African American voters cast ballots before Election Day in 2012. A much smaller majority of white voters cast ballots early (57 percent). Among Hispanic voters—who have been increasing as a voting bloc in North Carolina in the last two presidential races—52 percent voted early.

Several states are already having to accommodate early voters because of court rulings. Let's keep the lawsuits coming

Remember guys, only a few polls, especially state ones, are reliant enough on mobile phones which is what minorities and the youth prefer to landlines so if you see her already up on landline only/heavy ones then she may be even more popular

You could even say she insulted 50% of Americans since every supporter will think she is talking about them, plus anyone who may be related to them who don't think their family member is racist.

Frankly if they're more outraged at being call deplorables by Hill then by the ignorance of Donald Trump for basically a year...
They already lost.

Here for an iconic moment like when he defended NY values... "my supporters are decent, hardworking people who just want to work and get food on the table for their families".

Good thing she also addressed this basket in the same paragraph, but it won't make headlines.
The reactions to this will confirm what we already know : those calling for the end of political correctness are the most sensitive ones and can't stand anything being said about them.
