They're not the same thing. We call Native Americans "Indians" because Columbus thought he was in India when he discovered America. The people/culture actually have little in common.
She would still get dragged for dressing as Pocahontas. People were ready to drag her for TPP's tour poster until they realized it wasn't actually a Native American headdress.
