To be fair, promo wouldn't have helped. As dwuw alluded to, 90% of the people who would actually buy the song already owned it with 1989. The fact that it reached as high as #6 is lowkey impressive.

Honestly, I'm not buying the "the album sold x copies so Style couldn't have sold well on its own" when 21 has sold 11M copies and RITD has sold 8M copies in the US. Style was killed undeservingly by a poor video and 0 promo.
