So I'm at work and I wanted to get this customer and my coworker TOGETHER about Mariah.
So Mimi comes on the radio at Winn Dixie like ALL the time, so Without Yousus comes on and I get all into my feelings, right? So my coworker is all like "Why are you getting so emotional?" And I'm like "Because it's MARIAH" "And she was all like, oh that's why I didn't recognize this, I don't like her. She sounds like she's whining when she's singing and then hits a random high note" So I'm like "Lies, she's the greatest vocalist of all time. Get your life in order" so this customer intrudes in the convo talking about "I don't mean to intrude in your conversation, but Mariah is ONE of the greatest vocalists, not THE greatest" in my head I'm like "you're lucky I'm in my uniform, because I DEFINITELY was not speaking to you. " and my coworker is all like "how is she the greatest vocalist, have you heard Adele?"
Needless to say that was the end of the conversation.

Absolute mess. Don't let it bother you, some think the terms "singer" and "vocalist" are synonymous. while a vocalist can be called a singer, a singer cannot be called a vocalist.
There are many who hate her and are bothered by her success but that does NOT diminish what she has accomplished or her insurmountable influence on so many in AND out of the industry.
