As for Nelly "reinvention", she didn't re-invent anything. Her whole album sounds like something Gwen could've done, or Fergie could've done with BEP. And she didn't bring pop back. Pop had never left. And R&B/Hip-Hop has been dominating the charts ever since Nelly first came out. "Promiscuous" had a hip-hop/urban feel, which is why it got played. If it was really pop it wouldn't had got so much attention on urban radio.  |

you haven't heard the album "Loose" yet... How can you say something like that?? The album is so diverse... "Maneater", "Promiscuous", "All good things (come to an end)", "Say it right"..."Do it", "In God's hands", "Te busqué"... ... how can you say it sounds like a Gwen's album?? or a Black Eyed Peas album??!
Gwen and BEP are so different styles from each other and from "Loose".
I'm sorry!! the only explanation for that is that you haven't heard the album... (I know you're gonna say "YES I HAVE!!"... so, my explanation is : you're just saying things without even thinking just to try get some of our attention here... )

Lil Wayne Announces Tha Carter III: The Leak on December 18, with Official LP Coming in February
Lil Wayne has announced that he will be dropping a prelude to his highly anticipated Tha Carter III album, rather than the actual LP, on December 18 as was previously planned. Speaking to MTV News, Weezy explains that Tha Carter III: The Leak will contain a number of tracks that have hit the internet over the past few months—such as “Prostitute Flange” and “I Feel Like Dying”—but in slightly different forms. “I’m a perfectionist,” he told MTV. “I’mma change a couple verses, couple of lines. I ain’t gonna change nothing up where it f**ks up the song, I’ll just make it more complete. There are songs out there that weren’t finished; I’ll add hooks, third verses. We’re working for the fans.” The Leak will also include four brand new songs that Wayne has recorded especially for the release. The track “Gossip,” which Wayne performed live at the BET Hip-Hop Awards last week, will be the album’s first single. Although many have speculated that “Gossip” is a jab at 50 Cent, Weezy denies that allegation. The actual Carter III album, which will contain all new material, is now slated for a February 12 release date.

ok so for all of u that saw a "leaked" Carter lll album on the net, its actually a mixtape full of leaked songs in the past months
and Lil Wayne is gonna have new material and songs that havent leaked on a new Carter lll album due to be released in February
so their is still a chance that there is a track with Nelly F.! that was confirmed by MTV

when Britney came out in 1998 bunch of pop wannabes suddenly came popping out she introduces new sound to pop music
when avril came out in 2002 buch of pop-rock wannabes came out too but they all flopped so now they are trying techno again avril introduces new sound to pop music
nelly didn't introduce anything new to pop music! uhm "**** on the radio"? 
neither "whoah! nelly", "folklore" and "loose" do that these 3 albums are now forgotten

BTW, if you care Gabor, Nelly holds the record on my top 100 chart having the most weeks at #1, with 24 weeks. Both "Promiscuous" + "Do It" got 10 weeks @ #1, "SIR" got 3 weeks, and "Maneater" got 2 weeks. "AGT" only didn't reach #1 because I put it on my chart in December, then re-added it in April when it became a single for the US, but by then "Give It To Me" was at #1 and nothing could beat it. So you can continue to THINK that I am a hater of Nelly, but I am not. Again I just hate her stans that make me pity her sometimes. It happened with the Beyonce fans when B'Day was a hit, same for Xtina fans. But those are overrated stans, I would think Furtado stans would be cooler but they are just as worse. |

I'm glad that you don't really hate her
You can call Britmney whatever you want coz she probably deserves ir - she's been here since 1999 and she's been making music, but I wouldn't call Fergie  a pop royality.
She just sucks the fame from fellow BEP members I think.

This discussion is between VerticalHorizon and other people ... not with me... but I have to have to say this:
Please, Avril came out as a girl with a girly and horrible voice screaming "why do you have to be so complicated???" making a point where people don't have to fit in any pre-made image... meanwhile she came out with a very calculated image with a tie around her neck. And she came out as "anti-Britney"... look where she is now...
Her sound was nothing new at that time..."complicated" was quite a pop-song... "with you" was a ballad (good!! It is a good ballad, I have to admit it... but she is good at this... she also made a good ballad for "Keep holding on"). Only "Sk8er boy" was more punk... but... what did that bring to punk music? ... Avril is pop!! ok?
And... Courtney Love and Alanis Morissette were the first and fresh female artists at that time, bringing music that made statement against pre-made ideas and had an image that was quite opposite people wanted at the time. And comparing Avril to these artists...is quite edgy!! I mean, Alanis and Courtney don't deserve this kinda of comparison.
